What is “Photo Day in the Park?”

Photo Day in the Park is a fun and easy way to raise money while offering the community professional photographic services at a reduced rate.  See It My Way Photo (Photographer) and your organization work collaboratively to organize a day of photo sessions.  Your organization keeps 100% of all sitting fees.

How does it work and How much money can my organization raise?

Your organization books appointments for 10-minute photo sessions with individuals and families (Clients). The photo sessions take place at an outdoor location mutually agreed upon by your organization and the Photographer.

The Photographer agrees to photograph all clients at no cost.  Instead your organization sets the price of and collects all of the sitting fees in advance. Your organization keeps 100% of these profits.  In the past, other non-profit organizations have made up to $1500 during one event, but there is no limit to how much money your organization can raise.

After the shoot, Clients may go to the Photographer’s online store to purchase an array of products: prints, mugs, note cards, and other photo-related items.  No minimum purchase is required, but Clients (and their friends and families) may choose to place orders up to one year after the actual event. The Photographer will provide all Clients with information pertaining to the online store and sales.  The online store handles every aspect of the transaction from order taking to fulfillment and shipping. Credit cards are accepted. Profits from all sales from the online store go to the Photographer.

Who may have their picture taken?

Anyone, not just people in your organization, may sign up to have pictures taken: families, individuals, couples, pets, or friends.   Your organization controls who can and cannot participate in the event.

How much does it cost?

Clients pay, in advance, a sitting fee (set by your organization) to have their portrait taken by the Photographer.  Most organizations opt for a $25 sitting fee, but the Photographer highly suggests that your organization advertise the sitting fee as a “minimum donation” so that those Clients who wish to donate more to your organization may do so.

How much do prints and photo-related items cost?

The cost for prints and photo-related items begin at just $15. 

What are responsibilities of your organization?

Your organization is responsible for booking appointments and collecting all sitting fees in advance.  Your organization is also responsible for marketing, advertising, and promoting the event.  The day of the event, a few volunteers or staff members from your organization should be on hand to help facilitate the event.

If your organization wishes, it may set up a table near the site of the photo shoot to promote itself, to recruit members, and to sell merchandise.  Your organization is solely responsible for setting up and staffing any such table.

What are the photographer’s responsibilities?

The Photographer agrees to provide her services free of charge and understands that there is no guarantee that Clients will purchase any prints or other photo products from the online store.  If, for any reason whatsoever, the Photographer is unable to attend the event, she shall send a back up photographer to take her place.

The Photographer is responsible for providing all photographic equipment and any props.  She will make every effort to produce images pleasing to the Clients; however, the Photographer cannot guarantee the Clients’ satisfaction.
